Standing in the shadows

of a life bigger than me,

keeps my heart collected

to the place it ought to be;

No room for bragging,

boasting is not a thought,

just the desire to keep reaching

to achieve the things I ought!

So go ahead if you will,

and be much greater than me

and that will give me courage,

to be all I can be!

Then when I reach the end,

and have done all I can do;

I’ll remember you MY FRIEND;

and I’ll thank God for YOU!
